My exact home office set up at Kaffeen.

My exact home office set up at Kaffeen.

By this stage, you’ll have seen a hundred or more tips of working, hiring and even partying from the home office. I know I’ve seen more than my fair share of these articles, encouraging me to spend a ton on stuff I won’t use in the long term.

A perfect work set up doesn’t have to cost the earth. Unsure when I’m going to return to a physical office, I refused to spend a fortune on new kit.

Here’s how: these are the exact items that I use and love at Kaffeen HQ.

#1 A decent table, £16 at IKEA.

I love this because the legs wind off, which means I can store under a bed when I return to a physical office.

#2 An ergonomic chair, £90 at Amazon.

I used to use a standing desk, but this is my back-saving alt to being on my feet all day. Again, collapses and stores under a bed when not needed.

#3 A nice work lamp, £9 at IKEA.

Buy it for the light or the studious, architect vibe that appeals to this desk-based worker.

#4 Sonos x IKEA, £89 at IKEA.

The closest I’m going to get to recreating the feel of a 100-person strong Spotify playlist reverberating around a studio any time soon.

#5 Scent diffuser, from £3.50 at Aldi.

Call me woo woo, but something about the scent gets me to move into work zone from home zone. I’m a fan of Aldi’s Hotel Collection Lime, Basil and Mandarin, if you really must know.

#6 A SAD lamp, £30 at Amazon.

A must for the mood of the Northern hemisphere home worker.

#7 A window, free subject to availability.

This is a no-brainer. If you’re working from home, you’re likely getting out less, so get your Vitamin D via the glass rather than staring at a wall.

Now you’ve got your power-wielding kit set up, make sure you have the best practices for getting clients through the door, with Kaffeen marketing and new business toolkits. You can grab it in the Kaffeen Shop.
